HARP 2022

HARP (High Altitude Rocketry Program) seeks to expose students to a real-life engineering challenge. Students will execute engineering design, manufacturing, and launch principles in creating the third HARP Vehicle —HARP Genesis— and launching to hopefully over 50,000 feet! This year’s focus is to build a solid foundation of knowledge and talent for future missions. We hope to one day reach the Karman Line at 100 km. Our current design configuration and simulations show 50,000 feet is obtainable with our $5,000 fundraising goal.

HARP is establishing a new culture for students in the College of Engineering. We are pushing for multiple disciplines within the team, broadening the exposure of the program while emulating a real-world dynamic and multidisciplinary environment. Students participating in HARP are able to combine theoretical knowledge from upper-division courses to collaborating with a multidisciplinary team. This experiential learning is invaluable for career building and engineering professionalism.

HARP will be innovative for students, faculty, and the college and university by providing a platform to reach subspace altitudes and explore via science and engineering, life above the earth.

We need your help to reach our goal! Please make your gift today by selecting a given level to the right. Thank you for your support!!

Levels
Choose a giving level

$25

Intern

This will help us purchase nuts and bolts for the vehicle.

$100

Engineer

We can purchase nose cone materials at this giving level. Donations at this level will receive a personal thank you email.

$250

Lead Engineer

A gift at this level will pay for a flight computer unit or auxiliary system such as video cameras and data acquisition units. Donations at this level will receive a personal thank you email and signed team picture.

$500

Project Manager

Parts that will be purchased/made at this giving level include: airframe, fins/fincan, propulsion system hardware. Donations at this level will receive a personal thank you email, a signed team photo, and a logo on our project website.

$1,000

The guy that presses Launch

A donation of this size will help us with the propulsion system propellant for one stage of our rocket. Donors will receive a thank you email, a signed team picture, a logo on the project website, and a 3D printed model rocket award!
