A final thank you

May 07, 2017

Hello Awesome SRE Family and Friends!

Our crowdfunding campaign has now come to an end. In approximately five weeks, our team has raised a total of $2,710!! While that is not the goal of $5,000 established at the start, that is still 54% of the money we had hoped to raise! With this money, we can still get some necessary supplies and sponsors thanks to people who shared the campaign.

For the last week, a lot of effort went in to get the brackets welded onto the frame. The aerodynamic team completed coating tests on the body molds. The power train team picked up the last of the battery frames, and battery testing is progressing with minor deficiencies which have been noted and resolved. The team is going to be assembling the modules holding hundreds of cells and collector plates. Overall, the team has come together to get a lot done in terms of manufacturing as competition quickly approaches.

The team would like to thank each person who has helped in raising the money needed for the car. This includes not only the donors, but the friends and family who spread our cause to others so that we could raise competition funds and our hopes. Without the money raised, getting to competition would be a longer journey and far more difficult. So once again, thank you to those who have helped our club in every way possible.

Thank you!

Our campaign has been extended!

May 01, 2017

Hello Spartan Fanatics!

We have some exciting news as the University has decided to extend our crowdfunding an extra week! With the help of all our supporters sharing and donating, many donations have come in as our page has been shared among families and friends. So the team would like to thank all the supporters who have shared the page or donated. Without your help, we would could not have raised over $2000!!

With the surge of donations coming in, the team has gotten plenty of work done this past week. The Aero team has finally gotten all the molds for various pieces of the car. That includes the body, seat and undertray of the car. The frame of the car is also reaching the end of welding, which is crucial for other aspects of the car. On the powertrain side, one module was put together and fitted with batteries, which came out great. The econnect and PCBs of the car were also finished to much delight.

With the extension of our crowdfunding campaign, the team would like once again thank all our supporters and ask to keep sharing our page so we can continue to raise money for SRE-3!

Thank you!

Exciting Progress from SAE!

April 23, 2017

Hope all is well!

We are now reaching the final stretch of our crowdfunding campaign! There are now five days left to reach our goal of $5,000. In the past week, we have had an influx of donations thanks to all your help. We have raised $700, bringing our total to $1015. Although we are happy to pass the $1,000 mark, we need more help to reach our goal of $5,000.

To help us reach our goal, please take a few minutes of your time day to share our crowdfunding page here and contribute to our campaign today. Although our car is reaching the point of completion, donations are still appreciated. With your help, we can purchase the final bulk of parts needed to become competition ready.

Thank you!

Interesting news from the team

How’s it going!

Another update on a productive weekend for Spartan Racing Electric. In the past four days, the team has been up and at it, completing new and continuous tasks. Members from different sub-teams filled the workshops to help complete what we have to do. In the machine shop, the frame is nearing the point of completion with the frame rear end which was added this past weekend. Brackets are still on our to-do list, but with so much help, all the parts will be done in no time. In regards to the electrical part of the car, progress has been made on the wiring harnesses and battery collector plates. On the aerodynamic side of things, the molds for the body of the car have come in and production of the body is in progress.

With each and every passing week, the car is rapidly reaching completion!

If you can, please take a couple of minutes out of your day to share our crowdfunding page here and contribute to our campaign today. The car is coming to life thanks to the contributions and help from supporters like you. Ten days remain on our campaign and we must continue spreading the word about our team so we can reach the remaining $4,000 dollars to ensure we reach competition readiness. Help involves sharing our crowdfunding page and donating. With the goal in sight, we want to thank everyone who has helped the team in some shape or form.

A thank you and an update from the SAE team

April 13, 2017

Welcome back!

We are finally reaching the half way point of our crowdfunding campaign as competition approaches. The team is reaching the end of another exciting week of manufacturing! Significant progress has been made with the frame assembly thanks to our chassis team working long hours in the machine shop. A multitude of brackets are coming into shape as parts trickle in from various manufacturers. Electronics systems are also starting to be assembled, with the software and powertrain teams hard at work. Battery module frames are being cut sometime this week and look to be done soon.

The car is coming along fast!

Please take a few moments to view our crowdfunding page here and contribute to our campaign today. Our vision could not become a reality if it was not for the contributions from supporters like you. We have 14 days left of our campaign and need your help to raise about $4,000 dollars more in order to ensure we reach competition readiness. Anything you can do goes a long way whether its making a gift or sharing the page, our story, and our hope with the rest of your network.

Week One

April 09, 2017

Hello SRE Supporters!

This week has been an exciting one with the release of our video, and seeing donations come in. We are currently at $225 out of $5k, which equates to us spending 8 hours at AutoX to earn the same amount. Your donations are already making an impact. Please, continue to share our project to your business associates to spread the word. We are quite a ways from achieving the goal, but there is still time for others to make significant contributions. T

Be on the look out for our first progress update set for release on Monday April 10th. Again, SRE appreciates your donation, and we value those who have donated. If you met a certain giving level, we will reach out to follow-up with your reward.

Best Regards,
