Volleyball Mountain West Global Challenge

UPDATE (4/25)First and foremost, thank you to everyone who made a contribution to our program so far this year. We're happy to share that we received some donations outside of our crowdfunding campaign that allowed our two student-athletes to put down the necessary deposit for their trip this summer. This was a great start to making sure they can afford this experience of playing competitive volleyball overseas, but we are still in need of some additional funding.

In order to make this happen, we need to raise another $2,000 and we are grateful that a generous donor has agreed to match every contribution to the campaign up to $1,000 to make sure that we reach our goal. We have two weeks to turn this into a reality so please help our student-athletes experience this trip of a lifetime by making your gift today. Thank you!

Exciting times for Spartan Volleyball as we continue to strive for excellence on and off the court.

After 17 wins this fall season, we are looking forward to gaining even more competitive experience and develop greater chemistry during our spring Beach season. Laura Parts and Thaliana Grajeda were both major contributors to our success during our indoor season and now have become main starters on our Beach squad. They helped us defend Mountain West winner, Colorado State University and cross-town rival Santa Clara this past fall and just took down conference rival Boise State recently in our Beach Season.

Off the court, Thaliana Grajeda was one of 8 of our Student-Athletes that made the Academic All-Mountain West Conference team!

We have launched this project because we need your help in taking the two student athletes on a once in a lifetime Mountain West Global Challenge Tour. Our goal is to raise $7,000 for Thaliana and Laura to go on a 12 day foreign trip training and competing all over Europe. Here are a few things they will accomplish in Europe:

  • High level volleyball training
  • Incredibly valuable cultural and educational opportunities
  • Strong competition to prepare them for our 2018 season
  • Memories that will last a lifetime and positively affect them

Every donation made to San Jose State University Volleyball is 100% tax-deductible.

We truly appreciate your consideration of supporting Spartan Volleyball with a gift.  We are humbled by you and others who have supported our program so generously in the past - and who continue to do so in the present future.

Food for a day

Once we land in Europe, we will need to eat! The food we will enjoy on this trip will be partly for maintaining our physical health for international competition, but also to be able to experience the cuisine of another culture and lifestyle. This amount will help cover the food for one day of our trip.

Lay their heads at night

Having a place to rest and recharge for our competitions is an absolute necessity for this trip. Our trip is jam packed with high level training and good competition while squeezing in some sight seeing, so the place we lay our heads at night is important. This covers one night at a hotel for each of us.

Ground transporation

During our trip, we will be traveling all over London, different cities in Croatia and then down to Venice, Italy as part of our tour. We will be commuting by bus within the cities and this giving level will cover the cost of this for one us.
